The American Library Association Midwinter Meeting is upon us. Exhibitors, authors, and attendees are descending on Dallas for the January 20-24, 2011 event.
With over 430 exhibiting organizations and the PopTop stage featuring the hottest authors, the exhibit hall floor will be an exciting place this year.
If you are going to be at ALA Midwinter, be sure stop by the Accessible Archives booth to ask about a demo or just say hello. We are in booth 1805 and easy to find at the end of a row.
The ERT/Booklist Author Forum, from 4:00pm to 5:15pm, gets things started on Friday afternoon with authors representing different voices coming together to discuss their work. Authors Helen Schulman and Hillary Jordan will talk with with moderator Brad Hooper, Adult Books Editor at Booklist, about their approaches to capturing society at large and family in particular.
After the Author Forum, the exhibit hall will open with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a brief welcome from ALA and Dallas dignitaries. The opening of the exhibits will include food, drink and entertainment throughout the exhibit hall. For a full list of the exhibitors and a map of the hall visit http://www.alamidwinter.org/exhibit-hall.
